URBAN DECAY
Inspired by peeling alleyways and door ways, ATM machines and man hole covers. The places in the city where people have accidentally created something beautiful together. A layered history of what and maybe who has come before. When it rains signs peel off of brick and ply wood. Glue and wheat paste softening under thick stacks of paper. Someone’s lost cat, their name in bubble letters, a political message. I’ve been collecting little scraps off the street for the last few weeks and layering them with acrylic, painted tissue paper and marker. An homage to a thing I love about this city: layers of messy expression piled on top of each other and accidentally working together to create harmony.
